I'm a software engineer who's been building and shipping production systems since 2016, working across MedTech, Auto Insurance, and Food Delivery. I specialise in taking ideas from concept to working products, especially when requirements are evolving and resources are tight.
I care deeply about building the *right* thing, not just building fast. That means understanding the business, the users doing the work every day, and the trade-offs that actually matter. I enjoy partnering closely with founders to turn vision into software that's simple, resilient, and valuable.
When I'm not building, I'm usually reading, travelling, or unwinding at my local leisure centre.
Selected Work
Brought in to lead backend development for a financial platform handling sensitive transactions at scale. I worked closely with product and non-engineering stakeholders to design and deliver secure APIs and background systems, balancing regulatory requirements, performance, and delivery speed.
I took ownership of system architecture, improved observability and reliability, and helped the team ship production-ready features with confidence.
Worked on core backend systems supporting underwriting and policy workflows. I helped integrate third-party APIs, improve data models, and introduce stronger automated testing to reduce regressions in a business-critical domain.
My work focused on making backend systems easier to evolve as product requirements changed, while maintaining reliability in a regulated environment.
Helped build a real-time video consultation platform used in a healthcare setting. I worked on backend systems powering live consultations, third-party medical integrations, and event-driven services designed to scale reliably under real-world usage.
This role required careful trade-offs around performance, reliability, and patient safety - and reinforced my preference for pragmatic, well-observed systems over over-engineered solutions.
Worked directly with clients to design, build, and ship complete web applications — from requirements gathering to deployment. Projects included secure payment systems, REST APIs, and custom CMS platforms built to support real business needs.
This period shaped how I work today: close collaboration, clear communication, and a strong bias toward shipping useful software.
